After a childhood spent acting professionally and training at a theatre school, Laura Madeleine changed her mind, and went to study English Literature at Newnham College, Cambridge. She now writes fiction, as well as recipes, and was formerly the resident cake baker for Domestic Sluttery. She lives in Bristol, but can often be found visiting her family in Devon, eating cheese and getting up to mischief with her sister, fantasy author Lucy Hounsom. You can find her on twitter @esthercrumpet.

Laura is represented by the effervescent Ed Wilson at Johnson & Alcock. Please contact him with any queries.

Hi Laura, I’m wondering if you have book plates you can sign and mail to me so I can put it in a book. See my sister’s name is Petra Stevenson and I’d love to get an autographed copy of The Confectioner’s Tale for her. Please let me know if this is possible. Thanks. Rachel Stevenson

      Hi Rachel,
Thanks for getting in touch! I don’t have any bookplates I’m afraid, but I do still happen to have a few advanced reading copies, if that would be of any use? If so, I’ll stick a contact form back on this page, so you can let me know the address to send to. All the best!
